We taught Dexter the dog a bathroom command so when we take him places, he’ll know where he can and cannot use the facilities. The dog training websites I consulted suggested “potty” or “pee-pee” as a command word, but let’s get real. He’s getting bigger, and I CANNOT say “pee-pee” to a 100 lb. dog with a straight face.
Instead, at my daughter’s suggestion, we taught him the command phrase,
“Git ‘R Done.”
Last night she and I were walking Dexter before bed. On the way to his crappin’ spot, I accidentally said “Git R Done” to Tasha just in conversation. The dog instantly stopped and peed right there.
If we ever rent a Blue Collar video, our carpets are screwed.
LOL. Nice. Luckily I have a 3.5lb Yorkie, so “pee-pee” is totally appropriate.
If you begin to notice a procrastination epidemic around your house amongst people with fouled-upon shoes, you’ll only have yourself to blame! 😉
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! 😀
With our CCI dogs that I train, the potty command is “Hurry.” I do not know why the program chose to use this word, as it means you have to warn all persons entering your home to never use this word. I find myself now saying strange things like “rush” because hurry is no longer an option unless you mean, “squat.”
What an odd choice for a command word. And I thought ours was a little too common. I can’t imagine using “Hurry.” Wonder why on earth they chose it?
Absolutely no idea. But, it works, we just have to make sure others are aware, lol.
Indeed…your carpets depend upon it!
Funny post! Our command is “go potty.” The dog is the only one we use it on, so I think our carpets are safe.
Well they’re definitely safe from a Larry the Cable Guy video, that’s for sure! 🙂
Our dogs respond to “go potty” so we’re safe for now.
