This weird weather is downright strange. In the past two weeks, our kids have gone sledding and we’ve all been outside without coats. This is the very first year I can ever remember a Christmas without snow. Just when it was starting to feel like spring again, wham!, we’re right back to the cold stuff. I honestly think we’re done with the big fluffy winters I remember when we were kids. Seems like the snow is moving further south every year. Not that Michigan will ever be Florida, but I don’t think we’re in for too many more 2′ snowstorms.
I actually feel bad for the companies that depend on winter to thrive up here. Boyne Mountain actually closed for a few days due to lack of snow and weather too warm to maintain the fake stuff. I don’t think that’s ever happened before. And there are so many snowmobile dealerships and small towns who depend on tourist $….what a mess. Personally I could live with a nice 3″ covering and no more for the entire winter, but I do feel for those small business owners who are really hurting these past few years.
Does this odd weather feel ominous to anyone else? I’m serious….feels like something BIG is on it’s way. It just has a creepy, uneasy feeling to it. Know what I mean?
